Electrical Contactors

Authorized Siemens distributor

Hard-to-find and manufacturer-specific equipment

Since 1972

Worn electrical contactors stop pulling in, and the load stays off. Either the coil or the complete unit can come from Bud Ferguson's Industrial Control & Supply Inc. Maintenance departments order electrical contactors from one warehouse, wherever the equipment runs. Fifty years of stocking Siemens switching gear covers coils, contacts, and whole assemblies, backed by authorized distribution.

Loads That Get Switched by Electrical Contactors

Heaters, pumps, compressors, and lighting banks all rely on electrical contactors to make and break the circuit. Low-current signals pull the contacts closed, so a wall switch never carries the full load. Separating the control wiring from the power side is what makes remote and automatic operation possible. Fitting an overload relay is what turns one into a starter. Duty cycle matters more than horsepower on lighting and heating circuits. Contacts wear with every operation, so a hard-working line eats through them faster.

Classes Carried for Control and Lighting Duty

Definite purpose, lighting, and general use classes cover the range of our electrical contactors. Compressors, chillers, and similar single-purpose equipment take DP contactors. Class 42 and 45 units come off the shelf, along with their accessories. Fixture banks switched by a timer or photocell run through Siemens lighting contactors instead. Electrically held versions appear in that line alongside mechanically operated ones. Voltage on the coil decides whether a unit pulls in at all. Renewal parts, from contact kits to replacement coils, are stocked separately. Counts of two poles and up are matched to the circuit being switched.

Ordering the Same Part Again in Five Years

Reordering electrical contactors five years on should not mean starting the search over. Erosion of the contacts makes these a repeat purchase rather than a one-time buy. Same applies on the motor side, where our magnetic starters come from one inventory. Superseded classes are held alongside anything still in production, so a later order stays possible. Purchases arriving years apart still get filled from the same list. Availability holds up even after the manufacturer moves on.

Restore the Circuit with the Right Contactor

Circuits stay dead until someone fits the right electrical contactors. Amp rating, pole count, and coil voltage together identify a replacement. Sending those figures to our electrical equipment supplier starts the cross-reference. Fresh contacts alone will often do, if the body is sound. Boxes leave one warehouse for any address in the country. Little else is needed, so request a quote on the contactor that restores the circuit.
